How To Make More Money Than The US Government

Considering the recent mass news coverage of the ‘debt crisis’ you might think this isn’t too hard, but imagine if you could build a business bringing in more cash than the US government. Not the president’s meager few hundred thousand dollar salary but having more money in the bank!

Sound impossible? Far from it. Apple just did it! Now with 18% of the global smartphone market Apple is not only bringing in huge revenues but has a $75.9 billion balance, over $2 billion more than the US Treasury Department’s operating balance. Clearly a great jump from the humble beginnings in a garage.

Many would credit much of Apple’s success with Steve Jobs’ ability to innovate. Some may think that this is something that we are either born with or not and that we are limited to the capabilities our genes give us. However, science says differently. Innovators are made and you can learn to become naturally more innovative and creative too.

So what can you do to improve your ability to be more innovative?

1. Find new ways to use your brain whether it is brainteasers, strategy games or sports.
2. Always be asking questions.
3. Look at things from a different perspective, take a step back and think outside of the fish bowl.
4. Tap into new networks and mastermind groups in order to discover how others are overcoming challenges in their industries and businesses.
5. Experiment, test and experiment some more.
