The Incredible Value Of Free ProductsWe hear a lot today about how as business owners we should be giving away free content and information. For most of you this probably sounds like a direct contradiction to the reason you got into business, but there is actually a lot of solid logic behind it. In fact if you look at some of today’s most successful start ups you will find that this strategy is what has enabled them to achieve what they have and grow so fast. Look at Law Pivot, Facebook and others. Offer something, grow a following and then find a way to cash in on the large customer pool that you have. Even if you already have a business it isn’t too late to begin this approach to new growth. For those with high end products or at least those with big ticket prices and if you aren’t seeing the sales volume you would like, perhaps breaking the ice with a free or lower priced product or service is just what you need. No matter how big a client’s budget is, it can take a big leap of faith and mean a lot of risk to spend thousands on anything with a new vendor who isn’t well known, especially in the virtual world that we operate in today. However, forging a new relationship and showing results first with a smaller ticket item can be a great way to build trust and confidence. It also opens the door to a series of upsells to step up to your ultimate product or service that you really want to promote. Not to mention it provides a lot more gross income and dramatically increases your same customer sales than just going in hard from the beginning. Think about it… Leave a Reply |
